Computer Training
Computer literacy and proficiency to use e books, email, and other online educational resources are essential and critical skills for the visually impaired persons which empowers them to be independent and up-to-date. Nethrodaya has a well equipped computer lab and has been providing training in usage of computers, essential application software and internet. Nethrodaya equips the visually impaired with basic computer skills like MS Office along with their main stream of study.
Music Training
Nethrodaya offers free music lessons to its residents every day of the week. Classes are conducted in keyboard, tabla, rhythm pad, and vocals. Since the musical profession is commercially sound, the visually impaired are immediately absorbed into musical troupes after finishing the training.
Yoga Classes
Nethrodaya believes that the practice of yoga will aid in improving mental and physical well-being of its students. Hence these classes are held under the able guidance of a qualified yoga teacher.
Reading Services
Readers for the visually impaired students play an important role in their academic life as they assist them to understand the lessons, write assignments whenever required and give intense coaching for the preparation of examinations. Nethrodaya has been mobilizing the support of regular readers from college students, retired persons and housewives throughout the year.
Fitness Training
Nethrodaya has also set up a gym in its premises equipped with equipment that can be used safely by the visually impaired.
