Donate a cow to a rural poor blind family -

Cost of a cow and female calf is Rs. 40,000

While visual impairment creates many challenges for any person, blindness combined with poverty, illiteracy, and a rural background leaves a person with very limited chances of survival.

Nethrodaya identifies such vulnerable families in rural areas and supports them by providing a cow and a female calf at a cost of Rs. 40,000. The cattle are selected under the supervision of experts, insured, and monitored through regular field visits to ensure proper maintenance. Credible milk procurers are also identified to ensure steady income. For many visually impaired families, the cow has become both an asset and a vital source of livelihood. Over the course of many years, this initiative has benefitted hundreds of families in various districts of Tamil Nadu.

Donate towards seed capital for poor visually impaired families: - Rs. 5,000 per family

With the aim of preventing the visually impaired from resorting to begging Nethrodaya provides seed capital worth Rs. 5,000/- to the poor visually impaired families, enabling them to build independent and meaningful livelihood. Nethrodaya also provides marketable products free of cost to visually impaired persons, enabling them to sell these items in the railway stations and suburban trains. This support allows them to earn a sustainable monthly income and lead a dignified life.

Donate towards sponsoring monthly expense of differently abled student – Rs. 6,000 per month

For the past more than two decades, Nethrodaya has served thousands of differently abled students by providing quality special education through our Free Residential Higher Secondary Special School for the Disabled, recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu, as well as a free hostel for college-going differently abled students from remote villages across the state.

Currently, we provide special education, boarding, and lodging free of cost to students from various rural districts of Tamil Nadu. During their stay, they also receive specialized technical training to enhance their skills and improve their employability.

To ensure high-quality special education and holistic care, significant expenses are incurred for feeding, maintenance, medical support, and salaries for qualified special educators, specialised trainers and vocational instructors. The expenditure on this per day per student comes to Rs. 200 and per month it is Rs. 6,000/-
